YBOR CITY has many historic buildings, CGM Services has through the years been fortunate to provide various air conditioning services at several historic locations.

This month's commercial project focus takes us to the Stemmery office & warehouse buildings located in YBOR SQUARE. The two building complex (Stemmery building & Warehouse building) in the heart of YBOR CITY was constructed in the mid 19th century.

The history of these buildings is fascinating. The top floor has access to a glass "crows nest" set out the roof deck, this was used as an early warning system to notify YBOR locals that a ship was arriving. Through the years these buildings have served as for a time as a cigar factory, tobacco warehouse and during the civil war housing for prisoners. These days the buildings provide fashionable office space.

CGM Services' most resent HVAC project consisted of 12,000 square feet of office space in the STEMMERY building. This is the northern building in the complex.

CGM Services provided exposed spiral HVAC ductwork, the exposed duct serves to maintain the rustic historical feel of the buildings. As a rule our work is hidden above the ceiling so when we have a project that exposes our hard work and craftsmanship we do not miss the chance to draw attention to it ­ beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
